Realising that our country exported over 400.000 caiman crocodile skins in raw, ECOCAIMAN SA CI was established in 1,992 to build a 1 rst. Class tanning industry. In 1,993 ECOCAIMAN SA CI bought an Italian technical package for caiman crocodilus fuscus and since then, it has continuously been improving it, through very intensive laboratory research, exporting today the best quality crusted and finished skins in Colombia, within the highest international quality standards. Being an emerging factory, tanning real crocodile skins, ECOCAIMAN SA CI is equipped with a plant in Bogota and classifiers in three main areas in Colombia to classify and select the best-raw skins and enhance our competitiveness in the global markets, buying only the highest quality raw skins directly from farms to our selected clients.
Professionalism and expertise in the industry enable us to be fully committed to quality and customer satisfaction. We are implementing a Quality-Production Programme -QPP, based in ISO 9002, being the only Co. in Colombia exporting today TOTAL finished and crusted crocodile skins, with the latest crocodile technology. Our main product for export, Hornback and Belly Caiman Skins, for which we recently have developed, together with an Italian consulting Co., a variety of new processes to softened the bone structure, with prices of all ranges to meet the different market demands.
This presence in the international market has increased the demand of its products, which required capital investment for acquisition of new & latest high-tech machinery in order to duplicate its operating capacity. To accomplish it, ECOCAIMAN SA CI sold shares between the best caiman breeders in Colombia, guaranting its selected raw skin supply and stabilizing its production. A high percentage of processes are done manually, as it involves very delicate operations, with pressure, humidity, heat, tension and other variables to end up with an elegant and natural beauty product, uniqueness of every item. Today, ECOCAIMAN SA CI exports approximately 10,000 skins /month to different markets all over the world, mainly the USA, Mexico, Italy, Japan & China.
